The Rotary Club of Monroe-Woodbury is partnering with operation warm to provide high-quality, new winter coats to needy children in our school district. These coats not only provide warmth in our cold winters, they allow children to regularly attend school and enhance their self-esteem.

You can help by donating to our operation warm fund. Every $20 contributed provides one additional child with a new winter coat. We acquire our coats from Operation Warm, a 501(c)(3) charity that has provided new winter coats to over 1.2 Million children across North America in just over a decade.

With your help, we hope to provide 200 local children with new coats.

This project will continue from year to year as Ms. Guerriero advised the Club that the need continues to grow. MW Rotary Club raises funds all year for this project. UNO’s Chicago Grill was a valued partner in this effort, holding “Doughraisers” to benefit Operation Warm. A donation of $20.00 will buy a new coat for a child here in the District. Donations can be made at any time.

Honoring a pledge made in 2011, last year, members of the Monroe Woodbury Rotary Club delivered 120 winter coats to Monroe Woodbury School District Social worker Denise Guerriero. With 90 Operation Warm jackets for elementary and middle school students and 20 Sherpa type hoodies from Old Navy, the Rotary Club was able to more than triple last years’ donation.

The Rotary efforts were also highlighted in The Times Herald Record!
